Celebrating research impact and engagement

The 2024 Research Impact and Engagement Awards celebrated academics committed to engagement for impact. Across six thematic categories, winners were recognised for both ‘emerging’ and ‘mature’ impact.
Prizes were awarded to teams and projects with innovative and high-quality approaches to research impact. The ceremony aimed to celebrate, inspire and showcase research that exemplifies the University’s ambition for maximising positive impact, driving down inequalities and addressing social and economic challenges.
This collection of videos and case studies highlights the groundbreaking work of the 12 exceptional research teams recognised at the awards, showcasing how they are driving real-world change to health, society, policy, culture, economics, and the environment.
Produced in collaboration with the research teams, these prize materials aim to extend the impact of their work through engaging and accessible content that will reach new audiences and engage decision-makers.
